26-12-2024:According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is partly cloudy over the Westcentral and Southwest Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hrs, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, Eastern Shan, Chin and Kayah States, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Mon State, scattered in Ayeyarwady Region, Kachin and Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) above May average temperature in Kayah State, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperature were (44°C) in Chauk, (42°C) each in Minbu and Magway, (41°C) each in Taungdwingyi and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hmawbi (2.09)inches, Thandaunggyi (1.18)inches, Yay and Kyeikhhame (1.02)inches each, Zayarthiri(Theikchaung) and Yangon(Kaba-Aye) (0.78)inch each and Dawei (0.74)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the southwest Bay and East Central Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd May, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Shan and Chin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States.. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in the Deltaic areas.
