26-12-2024:According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is partly cloudy over the Westcentral and Southwest Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hrs, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions, Kachin, Chin and Kayin States, isolated in Lower Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Northern & Southern)Shan, Rakhine and Mon States, and weather have been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (6°C) above May average temperatures in Kayah State, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Sagaing Region and (Northern & Eastern )Shan State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperature were (42°C) in Chauk and (41°C) each in Minbu, Magway, Aunglan and Taungdwingyi. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Central Yangon (2.16)inches, Paung (2.05)inches, Myauku (1.34)inches, Thandaunggyi (1.01) inches, Kyobinkauk (0.99)inch, Naypyitaw(Yezin) and Taunggu (0.78)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is generally moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the southwest Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st May, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Mon States, isolated in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, (Southern & Northern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Kayin States. Degree of certainly is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of scattered rain or thundershowers in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions.
