SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Chin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Myeik (2.32)inches, Kyeikdon (2.24)inches, Kya-In-Seikkyi (2.12)inches, Putao (1.93)inches, Bhamo (1.65)inches, Paung (1.57)inches, Shwegwun (1.56)inches, Belin (1.34)inches, Mogaung  (1.26)inches, Bago and Kungyangon (1.15)inches each  and Taungdwingyi (1.11)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4th September, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Yangon Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5 -7)feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Shan, Rakhine,  Kayin and Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 4th September, 2018: One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).
