25-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the Eastcentral and Southeast Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hrs, weather have been partly cloudy in Chin and Rakhine States, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Magway Region, scattered in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions, Kachin, (Southern & Northern)Shan, Kayah and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region and  isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayin State. Day temperatures were (2°C) below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region, Kachin and Kayin States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (42°C) in Chauk, (40°C) each Myinmu, Nyaungoo, Yamethin, Minbu, Magway, Aunglan, Taungdwingyi, Gangaw and Hinthada. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Pyinoolwin (6.02)inches, Patheingyi (5.48)inches, Mandalay (5.31)inches, Kyarinseikgyi (5.21)inches, Thaton (1.54)inches, Pinlaung, Minesat and Monywa (1.50)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observation at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th May, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Bago and Yangon Regions, Kachin, Shan and Kayah States,  scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with moderate to rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h.  Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar water.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of Southwest monsoon advance into the Southern Myanmar areas.
