25-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the Eastcentral and Southeast Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hrs, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Kachin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, scattered in Bago Region, Southern Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing Region. Day temperatures were about May average temperatures in Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kayah and Kayin States, (3°C) above May average temperatures in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State and (2°C) above May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk, (42°C) in Monywa, (41°C) each in Myinmu, Nyaungoo and Gangaw.  The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Monywa (1.82)inches, Sagaing (1.46)inches, Hmawbi (0.90)inch, Mawlaik (0.83)inch, Gwa (0.79)inch, Meikhtila and Coco- Island (0.71)inch each, Tada U and Kawkayeit (0.63)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th May, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions, Kachin, Shan, Kayah and Kayin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h.  Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar water.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of Southwest monsoon advance into the Southern Myanmar areas.
