SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has advanced into the whole country. Weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region, scattered in Southern Shan, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Magway Region and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Chin and Rakhine States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Tiddim (4.17)inches, Hkamti  (3.90)inches, Kyaukphyu (3.50)inches, Kyaukhtu (3.18)inches, Pinlaebu (2.87)inches, Pauk (2.40)inches, Kalay (2.36)inches, Homalin (2.12)inches, Manaung (2.01)inches, Kalewa and Phyarpon (1.85) inches each, Katha (1.45)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th JUNE, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.  Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 - 9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (3 - 5) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 5th JUNE, 2018: Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).

FORECAST FOR YANGON AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 5th JUNE, 2018: One or two rain or thundershowers with sunny period. Degree of certainty is (100%).
