SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin,Chin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kayah State and scattered  in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay and Magway Regions and isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Coco Island (5.99)inches, Kyeikkhame (3.07)inches, Heho (2.99)inches, Kyaukbataung (2.89)inches, Chauk  (2.76)inches, Magway  (2.55)inches, Nyaungoo  (2.44)inches, Kanbalu (2.29)inches, Minbu and Taunggyi (1.82)inches each.                                              

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak in the North Bay and strong to vigorous in the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 10th August, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Rakhine and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Northern Shan and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in the Lower Myanmar areas.
