SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has advanced into the Northeast Bay of Bengal and Central Myanmar areas. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in the whole country with regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Rakhine States and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region. Day temperatures were (2°C) above May average temperature in Taninthayi Region, (5°C) below May average temperatures in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, (3°C) to (4°C)  below May average temperatures in Yangon Region, Eastern Shan, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C) below May average temperatures in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin and Kayah States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperature was (42°C) in Pauk. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Maubin (8.98)inches, Manaung (7.13)inches, Yangon(North Dagon) (5.31)inches, Thandwe (4.76)inches, Gwa (4.13)inches , Kalewa (4.10)inches, Bhamo (3.82)inches, Central Yangon (3.66)inches, Phyarpon (3.62)inches, Ngazun (3.51)inches, Hmawbi and Ngathaichaung (3.39)inches each, Hainggyigyun (3.35)inches, Myitkyina (3.30)inches, Khayan (3.19)inches, Mawlaik (2.91)inches, Yangon (Kaba-Aye) (2.83)inches, Homalin and Taungkok (2.64)inches each, Coco Island (2.59) inches, Pathein (2.56)inches and Labutta (2.52)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over East Central Bay of Bengal has moved to Northeastwards. It is centered at about (40)miles West of Manaung, (80)miles South of Sittwe, (50)miles Southwest of Kyauk Phyu.  It is forecast to move Northeastwards. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in the whole country with regionally heavy falls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Frequently squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (10 - 16)feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong Monsoon.
