22-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal partly and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway and Bago Regions, scattered in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, fairly widespread in Yangon Region, Kachin, Shan and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing Region and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Thabeikkyin (4.80) inches, Thandwe (4.21) inches, Pathein (3.70)inches, Kanbalu (2.79)inches, Yay (2.63)inches, Kyeikkhame (2.17) inches and Shwebo (2.12)inches.                                             

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 8th August, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay and Bago Regions, fairly widespread in Yangon Region, Shan and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions, Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in the Southern Myanmar areas.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 8th August, 2015: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (60%).
