SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Kachin and Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kayah State, isolated in Lower Sagaing and Bago Regions, Northern Shan, Chin and Kayin States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Magway, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C) above May average temperature in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, (3°C) below May average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk and (40°C) each in Minbu, Magway, Sinpyugyun, Ann and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Mawlaik and Kawkareik (1.88) inches each, Bhamo (1.45) inches, Homalin (1.34) inches, Taungdwingyi (1.06) inches, Hainggyigyun (1.02) inches, Myawaddy (0.55) inch, Hkamti and Saw (0.48) inch each, Heho and Pyinoolwin (0.43) inch each.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Shan State, scattered in Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3- 6) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
