SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Lower Sagaing Region, Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin State, scattered in Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Southern Shan, Chin and Mon States, isolated in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Kayah States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) below April average temperatures in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State, (3°C) to (4°C) below April average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, (2°C) below April average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region and Southern Shan State and (2°C) above April average temperature in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk, (41°C) each in Magway and Pauk and (40°C) in Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Paung (2.52)inches, Hlaingbwe (1.30)inches, Putao (0.79) inch, Hmawbi and Thaton (0.67)inch each, Naungcho and Kyeikmayaw (0.63)inch each, Kyaukmae (0.59) inch, Central Yangon (0.58)inch, Bhamo (0.51)inch and Homalin (0.39)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20thAPRIL, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States, Scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, Shan and Rakhine States and isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Kayah and Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3 - 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
