29-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”. It is centered at about 680 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 150 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

            According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area  over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal area of West Bengal still persists.

General caution

            Under the influenced of low pressure area, occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Rakhine Coast.
