23-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

  1. According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move northeastwards and intensify into a Depression over Central Bay of Bengal around 24-5-2024. Thereafter, it may continue to move northeastwards, further intensify and reach Northeast and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal around 25-5-2024 evening.
  2. General caution

Due to the influence of Low Pressure Area, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States along with strong winds from today  morning to 27-5-2024. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40 mph and wave height will be about 9-12 feet. Frequently squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 45-55 mph and wave height will be about 13-16 feet.

Advisory

Due to the influence of low pressure area, people should be awared heavy rain with strong wind, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
