24-11-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over East Equatorial India Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, its likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu(India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over North Andaman Sea (Gulf of Martaban) still persists. It is likely to intensify and move Northeastwards.

General caution

Due to the low pressure area, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls and isolated heavy falls from today morning to (23.5.2022). Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40-45) mph. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

Due to the low pressure area, people should be aware strong wind with regionally heavyfalls and isolated heavyfalls and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
