30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It may further intensify into a depression during next (12)hrs and forecast to move North – Northwestwards. It is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm on (24.5.2021).

General caution

Due to the low pressure area, squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
