Issued at (14:00) hours M.S.T on 20- 10-2020

 

According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, a low pressure area has formed over Central Bay of Bengal. It is forecast to move initially Northwestwards then North- Northeastwards

General Caution

            Due to the low pressure area, rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and fairly widespread to widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls and squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-10) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts during (22.10.2020) to (24.10.2020).

Advisory

Due to the low pressure area, people should be aware heavy rainfall with strong wind, flash flood and landslide near the hilly areas and also small rivers.
