29-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”. It is centered at about 680 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 150 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

Flood condition of Sittoung River

          According to the (12:30) hrs M.S.T observation today, the water level of Sittoung River has exceeded by about (1½) feet at Madauk above its danger level. It may fall from the present water level about (½) foot during the next (2) days and may remain above its danger level.

Advisory

          It is especially advertised to the people who settle near the river banks and low lying areas in Madauk to take precaution measure.
