24-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, it is likely continue to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

A slight earthquake of magnitude (4.0) Richter Scale with its epicenter inside Myanmar (about (35) miles northeast of Paungbyin), latitude 24.72 °N, longitude 95.07 °E, depth (105) kilometers about (59) miles northeast of Tamu seismological observatory was recorded at (17)hr (53)min (00)sec M.S.T. on 16th January , 2018
