22-12-2024:According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal almost stataionary and weaken into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area. It is likely forecast to weaken gradually over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression Condition

According to the observations at (05:30) hrs MST today, the Depression over Northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Southeast Bangladesh coast has moved West-Northwestwards and crossed Bangladesh coast near Patuakhali.During next (48) hrs forecastThe Depression is likely to continue to move West-Northwestwards and cross Coastal Bangladesh and West Bengal(India) during next 48 hours.

General caution

Due to the Depression, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Chin, Rakhine States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls and fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions with heavy rainfalls and strong wind during today morning upto 15-9-2024. Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 8 - 10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

Advisory

Under the influence of depression, people should be awared heavy rain with strong wind, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
