21-12-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal continues has moved East-Northeastwards. It is centered at about 510 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam (India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression

According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal almost stationary. It is centered at about 210 Nautical miles West of Hainggyigyun(Myanmar), 390 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Sagar Island West Bengal (India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1004) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour.

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Depression is coded as yellow stage.

Forecast

 It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and intensify into a Cyclonic Storm around 23-10-2024 and Severe Cyclonic Storm over Northwest Bay of Bengal around 24-10.2024. Thereafter, it is likely to move Northwestwards and cross North Odisha and West Bengal Coasts between Puri and Sagar Island (India) early morning of 25-10-2024.

Due to the Depression, rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly widespresd to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls and strong winds from tonight up to 24-10-2024.

Frequently squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (50-55) m.p.h and wave height will be about (11-15) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

Advisory

 People should be awared the natural disasters such as the heavy rainfall with strong wind, thunder, lightning, hails, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and inland water transport and domestic flight.
