21-12-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal continues has moved East-Northeastwards. It is centered at about 510 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam (India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression

According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over the West Central Bay of Bengal (close to Andhra Pradesh Coast, India) reach to Machilipatnam, India and has weaken into a depression. It is continuous to move West-Southwestwards.

During next (24) hrs forecast

The depression is likely to weaken into a low pressure area during next (24) hours.

General caution

Due to the depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Mon States and scattered in the remaining Regions and States from today morning to (13.5.2022).Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35-40) mph. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

Due to the depression, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
