Depression
According to the observations at (16:30)hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea has moved Northwestwards and intensified into a depression. It is centered at about (160) Nautical miles Southwest of Port Blair, (685) Nautical miles Southeast of Vishakhapatnam, (700) Nautical miles South- Southeast of Puri, (India), (305) Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island and (430) Nautical miles Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar).
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.
Position of depression, center pressure and wind
Depression is located at Latitude (9.4) degree North and Longitude (91.3) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (1002) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30) miles per hourat (16:30)hrs MST today.
During next (72) hrs Forecast
The depression is likely to move Northwestwards and intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over the East Central Bay of Bengal during next (24) hours. It is forecast continuous to move Northwestwards and reach to West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal (off north Andhra-PradeshOdisha coasts, India) around (10.5.2022) and recurve to North-Northeastwards and reach to Northwest Bay of Bengal (off Odisha coast, India).

Due to the depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, AyeyarwadyRegions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and scattered in the remaining Regions and Stateswith likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States from today evening to (12.5.2022).Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along MyanmarCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along MyanmarCoasts.
