29-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”. It is centered at about 680 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 150 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

According to the observations at (22:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards and centered at about (580) miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee (Sri-Lanka) and (790)miles Southeast of Chennai (India). It is forecast to move Northwestwards.
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

Depression is located at Latitude (3.2) degree North and Longitude (89.2) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (1006) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30)miles per hour at (22:30) hrs MST today.

During next (24)hrs Forecast

It is forecast to further intensify into a deep depression during next (12)hrs and a cyclonic storm during next (24)hrs.

Advisory

Due to the depression, people should be awared domastic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
