24-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, it is likely continue to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Depression Condition

            According to the observations at (09:30) hrs MST today, the Depression over Bangladesh coast near Patuakhali has moved West-Northwestwards and further intensified into a Deep Depression over the Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal (India). 

During next (48) hrs forecast

The Deep Depression is likely to continue to move West-Northwestwards and cross West Bengal and Jharkhand(India) and weaken into a Depression during next 48 hours.

General caution

Due to the Deep Depression, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Chin, Rakhine States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls and fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions with heavy rainfalls and strong wind during today morning upto 15-9-2024. Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 8 - 10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

            Under the influence of depression, strong wind may occur off and along Myanmar Coasts and therefore trawlers, vessels and ships should be awared in advance.
