22-12-2024:According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal almost stataionary and weaken into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area. It is likely forecast to weaken gradually over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Deep Depression Condition

According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards and reach to Bay of Bengal and crossing Odisha coasts near Puri(India).

During next (24) hrs forecast

The deep depression is likely to continue to move nearly Northwestwards and gradually weaken into a Depression during next (24) hours. Thereafter it is likely to move West-Northwest and may cross continue inland of India.

General caution

Under the influence of deep depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States along with strong winds from today noon to 12-9-2024. Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 12 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.

 

Advisory

Under the influence of deep depression, people should be awared heavy rain with strong wind, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
