SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Magway and Yangon Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hainggyigyun (4.57)inches, Maubin (3.70)inches, Northern Dagon (3.35)inches, Kalay (3.26) inches, Tamu (3.19)inches, Kalaywa (3.15)inches, Hmawbi (2.76)inches, Manaung (2.72)inches, Kawthong (2.52)inches, Phyarpon (2.48)inches and Shwegyin (2.40)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th August, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan State, widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States.
