SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Southern Shan State, scattered in Magway Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kachin and Rakhine States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Gwa (3.50)inches, Putao (3.15)inches, Dawei (3.12)inches, Hmawbi and Belin (2.91)inches each, Shanywarthit (2.52)inches, Hlaingbwe (2.32)inches, Kamamaung (2.24)inches, Theinzayet (2.20)inches and Thaton (2.13)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5thAugust, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Shan(North and South) States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Eastern Shan and Kayah States and widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.Wave height will be about (8-12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7)feet in along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Generally strong monsoon.
