SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region, Northern Shan and Kayah States and widespread in Bago, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Moekok (3.34)inches, Hkamti and Kyauktaw (2.68)inches each, Thandwe (2.44)inches, Hlaingbwe (2.31)inches, Taugkok (2.17)inches, Myaungmya (1.85)inches, Phyu (1.81)inches, Gwa and Belin (1.73) inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4thAugust, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.Wave height will be about (8-12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7)feet in along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayin and Mon States.
