SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Yangon Regions, (Northern and Eastern)Shan State, widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State, isolated heavy falls in Magway and Bago Regions, Chin and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Ann (9.22)inches, Kyaukpyu (5.40)inches, Theinzayet (5.16)inches, Myauk U (4.06)inches, Kyauktaw and Bago (4.02)inches each, Sittwe (3.78)inches, Paletwa (3.62)inches, Gwa (2.83)inches, Shwegyin (2.80)inches, Madauk and Belin (2.40)inches each, Taungkok (2.24)inches and Pinlaung, Homalin and Aunglan (2.13)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong to vigorous elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th June, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah and Mon States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Shan and Kayin States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Chin and Rakhine States and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Mon State. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate to strong elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (10 - 12) feet in Deltaic and Rakhine Coasts and (6 - 9) feet in Gulf of Mottama and Mon - Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Continuation of increase of rain in Rakhine Coastal Areas.
