SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Eastern Shan State,  scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in  Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Hainggyigyun (7.80) inches, Chaungsone (6.62)inches, Launglon (5.55)inches, Myeik (5.15)inches, Dawei (4.49)inches, Bago (4.40) inches, Mawlamyine (3.47)inches, Kyeikkhame (3.46)inches, Pauk (3.19)inches, Kawkareik (2.76) inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (2.69)inches, Thaton (2.60)inches, Kya-In-Seikkyi (2.59)inches, Mudon (2.32) inches, Nyaung Oo (2.24)inches and Kyeikdon (2.12)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th JULY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Eastern Shan and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9 -14)feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong to vigorous monsoon.
