SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Chin State, fairly widespread in Mon State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State, isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperature in Kayah State, (2°C) above May average temperature in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan, Rakhine and Kayin States, (3°C) to (4°C) below May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, (2°C) below May average temperature in Chin State and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk, (42°C) each in Tharrawady and Bawlakhae (41°C) each Myinmu, Myingyun and Aunglan. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Theikchaung (0.98)inch, Pakokku (0.75)inch, Kyeikkhame (0.47)inch, Putao (0.43)inch, Falam, Tiddim, Gangaw and Paung (0.35)inch each, Machabaw, Yamethin and Hmawbi (0.24)inch each and Kalay (0.23)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Southwest Bay and a few clouds to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Chin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Mon States, scattered in Bago Region, Kayah and Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3- 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region and Mon State.
