SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Kachin and Mon States, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Eastern Shan State, isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin, Rakhine and Kayin States, weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) below May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, (3°C) below May average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region and (2°C) below May average temperature in Chin State and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (40°C)each in Chauk, Minbu and Magway and (39°C)each in Myinmu, Myingyan, Aunglan, Sinpyugyun, Phyu and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Paung (2.17)inches, Kyauktaw (1.69)inches, Thaton (1.18) inches, Bhamo (0.98)inch, Chaungsone (0.91)inch, Katha and Pathein (0.87)inch each, Myauk U and Kyeikkhame (0.67)inch each, Homalin and Kyeikmayaw (0.59)inch each and Machanbaw (0.55)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Southwest Bay and a few clouds to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 07th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, scattered in Northern Shan, Chin and Mon States and isolated rain in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
