Cyclonic Storm “MANDOUS” Condition

According to the observations at (04:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwest wards and intisified into a Cyclonic Storm” MANDOUS”. It is centered at about (595) Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island, (705) Nautical miles Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar), (260) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Jaffna (Sri Lanka) and (325) Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai(India).

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Cyclonic Storm “MANDOUS” is coded yellow stage.

            The Cyclonic Storm “MANDOUS” is located at Latitude (9.4) degree North and Longitude (84.4) degree East, centre pressure of Deep Depression is (998) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (45-50) miles per hour at (04:30)hrs MST today.

During next (48) hrs forecast

 It is likely continue to move West-Northwest wards and cross North Tamilnadu-Puducherry and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts (India) between Puducherry and Sriharikota around (10.12.2022).

General caution

Due to the Cyclonic Storm “MANDOUS”, rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States from to night to during next (72) hrs. Squalls with rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35-40) mph.Wave height will be about (9-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

Due to the Cyclonic Storm “MANDOUS”, people should be awared the rainfall with strong wind, thunderstorms, and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
