Cyclonic Storm “Asani”
According to the observations at (08:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “Asani” over West Central Bay of Bangal has moved West-Northwestwards and weaken into Cyclonic Storm “Asani”. It iscentered at about (30) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Machilipatnam, (95) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Kakinada, (165) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Vishakhapatnam, (295) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Gopalpur, (355) Nautical miles Southwest of Puri(India), (750) Nautical miles Westof Hainggyigyun and (780) Nautical miles West of Gwa(Myanmar).
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Cyclonic Storm “Asani” is coded yellow stage.

The Cyclonic Storm “Asani” is forecast continuous to move Northwestwards and reach to West Central Bay of Bengal(Close to Andhra Pradesh Coast, India) and recurve North-Northeastwards and reach to Machilipatnam, Narsapur, Yanam, Kakinada, Tuni andVishakhapatnam and then reach to West Central Bay of Bengal(off north Andhra Pradesh coast, India) during next (18) hours. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Deep Depression in the morning of (12.5.2022) and into a Depression in the evening of (12.5.2022).

Due to the Cyclonic Storm “Asani”, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States from today morning to (13.5.2022).Occasionally squall with rough seas will be in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and (6-9) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.
