Cyclonic Storm “HAMOON” Condition

According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “HAMOON” which has crossed Bangladesh coast close to the South of Chittagong is moving continuously Northeastwards.

During next (24) hrs forecast

Cyclonic storm “HAMOON” is likely forecast to move continuously Northeastwards and weaken as a Land Depression in Mizoram, India and Well Marked Low Pressure Area in the border of Chin State, Myanmar.

 General caution

Due to the Cyclonic storm “HAMOON”, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Southern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine States, scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Eastern Shan State with regionally and isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States. Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in off and along Rakhine Coast from commencing today morning to (26.10.2023).

Under the influence of the Cyclonic storm “HAMOON”, people should be awared of strong wind, heavy rain, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Rakhine Coasts.
