22-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal partly and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Cyclonic Storm Condition

According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” which has crossed to Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts between Sagar Island (India) and Khepupara, close to Mongla (Bangladesh) has moved North-Northeastwards and crossing the interior of Bangladesh.

During next (12) hrs forecast

The Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” is likely to continue to move North-Northeastwards and gradually weaken into a Deep Depression during next (6) hours and a Depression during next (12) hours.

General caution

Under the influence of Cyclonic Storm “REMAL”, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State along with strong winds during next (24) hours. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40 mph and wave height will be about 9-13 feet.

Under the influence of Cyclonic Storm “REMAL”, people should be awared heavy rain with strong wind, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships Deltic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
