Cyclonic Storm
According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 695 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 115 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 110 Nautical miles East of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 997 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 40-45 miles per hour.
It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” is coded as yellow stage.
Forecast
It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may cross North Tamil Nadu near Puducherry (India) today evening.
Due to the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”, rain are likely to be isolated to scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States during next 24 hours.
