Deep depression
According to the observations at (11:30) hrs MST today, the depression over Northeast Bay of Bengal has intensified further into a deep depression and it is centered at about (40) miles West-Southwest of Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh), (70) miles South-Southwest of Chittagong (Bangladesh), (65)miles Northwest of Maungdaw (Myanmar) and (110) miles Northwest of Sittwe (Myanmar).
The present stage of the deep depression is coded orange stage and it is moving towards Southern coasts of Bangladesh near extreme Northern parts of Rakhine Coasts.
Position of the deep depression, Center pressure and wind speed
The deep depression is located at Lattitude (21.3) degree North and Longitude (91.3) degree East, Centre pressure of deep depression is (994) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (45) miles per hour at (11:30) hrs MST today.
Foreacst for next (36) hours
It is expected to cross Southern coasts of Bangladesh near Chittagong during next (36) hours commencing noon today.
It will be under maximum wind speed with (50-60)mph in Maungdaw district, (45-50)mph in Sittwe district during the deep depression is crossing the coasts of Bangladesh.
Frequent squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45 - 50) m.p.h.
During the deep depression is crossing the coasts of Bangladesh, probable maximum strom surge is about (8 - 10) feet at Maungdaw district, about (6-8) feet at Sittwe district.
General caution
Under the influence of the deep depression, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Rakhine States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls, strong wind, flash flood and land slide.
Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls, strong wind, flash flood and land slide.
Advisory
Trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised especially to avert in condition of the deep depression.
