Depression

According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Northwest Bay of Bengal(close to North Odisha Coast, India) has moved Northeast wards and it is centered at about (315) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Sittwe, (285) Nautical miles West of Maungdaw(Myanmar), (60) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Degha, (40)Nautical miles East- Northeast of Paradip and (30) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chandbali(India).

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Depression is coded yellow stage.

Position of Depression, center pressure and wind

            Depression is located at Latitude (20.6) degree North and Longitude (87.3) degree East, centre pressure of Depression is (1004)hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30) miles per hour at (05:30) hrs MST today.

During next (6) hrs forecast

The Depression is forecast to move Northeast wards and weaken into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area towards West Bengal coast, India during next (6)hrs.

General caution

            Due to the Depression, rain or thundershowers will be isolated to scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States during next (48) hrs and squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7– 9) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
