BAY INFERENCE : According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “MICHAUNG” over Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal off South Andhra Pradesh and adjoining North Tamil Nadu coasts has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about (740) Nautical miles West of Coco Island, (805) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar), (45) Nautical miles Northeast of Chennai, (60) Nautical miles Southeast of Nellore, (135) Nautical miles South of Bapatla and (150) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Machilipatnam (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and the North Bay, Westcentral Bay and Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 05th December 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Chin, Rakhine States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
