BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs MST today, the Severe Tropical Strom“Talim” over the South China Sea has crossed to Zhanjiang City, Guangdong, China and reach to the coast of Southern China. It is likely to move West- Northwestwards and weaken into Tropical Strom“Talim” and then continue to move towards Upper Vietnam.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 18th July, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in (Southren and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Kayin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) mph. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (7-9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
