SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Taninthayi Region, Shan (North and South) State, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and  Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Kayin and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hkamti (7.52)inches, Theinzayet (4.02)inches, Paing Kyone (3.70)inches, Taungkok (3.58)inches, Thandwe (3.39)inches, Katha (3.27)inches, Khayan (3.03)inches and Kyauktaw (2.17)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15thAugust, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Shan (North and South) and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4 - 8) feet along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Shan, Kayin and Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 15th August, 2017:  One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainly is (100%).
