SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Southern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Magway Region and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.61) inches in Machanbaw, (3.03) inches in Myauk U, (2.79) inches each in Mogaung and Kanbalu, (2.20) inches each in Homalin and Thabaung, (2.13) inches in Tiddim, (1.97) inches each in Putao, Aunglan and Thayet, (1.89) inches in Gwa and (1.85) inches in Mogoke.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th June, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30 - 35) mph. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and (4-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Kachin and Rakhine States.
