SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regoins and Kayah, Mon states, fairly widespread in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Southern)Shan, Kayin States and isolated in Mandalay, Bago Regions and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.09) inches in Paung, (1.96) inches in Kyaukpyu, (1.68) inches in Danubyu, (1.50) inches in Manaung, (1.46) inches in Thipaw, (1.41) inches in Shwebo, (1.30) inches in Heho, (1.06) inches in Myingyan and (1.02) inches each in Kunlong and Yangon(Botahtaung).
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm “Mawar” over Philippines Sea is moving East-Northeastwards and it is likely to weaken gradually.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 03rd June, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan States and isolated in Lower Sagaing Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in the Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) mph. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Widespread rain or thundershowers in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
