SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, (Northern and Eastern)Shan and Kayah States, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan and Rakhine States and widespread in Taninthayi Region, Chin, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Machanbaw (6.26)inches, Myitkyina (2.84)inches, Kawkayeit (2.72)inches, Shanywarthit  (2.65)inches, Paung (2.60)inches, Myawaddy (2.40) inches, Labutta (2.36)inches and Zaungtu (1.93)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st August, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State, widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin, Chin, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 - 9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7) feet in along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago Region and Mon State.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 1st August, 2017:  Isolated rain or thundershowers.  Degree of certainly is (100%).

FORECAST FOR YANGON AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 1st August, 2017:   One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainly is (100%).

FORECAST FOR MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 1st August, 2017:  Isolated rain or thundershowers.  Degree of certainly is (80%).
