BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea still persists. It is likely intensify into a Depression during next (6) hrs and into a Cyclonic Storm over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea around (10.5.2023). The Cyclonic Storm is likely to move North-Northwestwards and reach to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal around (11.5.2023) and then recurve North- Northeastwards and move to Bangladesh-Myanmar Coasts. Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Shan State, fairly widespread in Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
The Condition of Cumulonimbus Cloud: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah, Kayin Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and scattered to fairly widespread in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin States.
