SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kachin, Southern Shan, Kayah States, isolated in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Mon States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan States and (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. The significant day temperatures were (45°C) in Bawlakhae, (44°C) in Nyaung Oo, Chauk, Magway, Gangaw and Sinbyugyun. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (0.35) inch in Namsam, (0.20) inch in Nyaung Shwe, (0.12) inch in Chaung Sone and (0.08) inch in Kawthaung.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea. It is likely to intensify into a Depression around (9.5.2023) then continue to move Northwards and intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over the Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Andaman Sea around (10.5.2023). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 09th May, 2023: Weather will be partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin, Rakhine States. Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Taninthayi Region and Northern Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

The Condition of Cumulonimbus Cloud: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the Mandalay Region and Shan State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5 - 7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
