SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Tainithayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Magway Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Thandwe and Taungkok (8.70)inches each, Ann (7.80)inches, Manaung (6.22)inches, Sittwe (4.22)inches, Kyaukphyu (3.97) inches, Labutta (3.90)inches, Thandaunggyi (3.70)inches and  Hainggyikyun (2.64) inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th July, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Shan and Kayah States and widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Magway Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 - 11) feet in Deltaic and along Rakhine Coast and (6 - 8) feet in Gulf of Mottama and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Chin and Rakhine States.
