SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions and widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Tainithayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Bago Region, Rakhine and Mon States, isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Northern Shan State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Thandwe (9.69)inches, Kyaukpyu (9.65)inches, Gwa (7.95)inches, Theinzayet (6.46)inches, Thipaw (5.94) inches, Manaung (5.79)inches, Nyaunglaybin (5.74)inches, Taungkok (5.51)inches, Sittwe (5.43)inches, Shwegyin (3.66)inches, Belin (3.50)inches, Myauk U (3.46)inches, Thaton (3.43)inches, Madauk (3.35)inches and Myaungmya (3.23)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd July, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Bago Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Yangon and  Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Occasional squalls with rough seas are likely off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9 - 11) feet in along Myanmar Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Mon States.
