SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin and Chin States and widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Bago Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Taungkok (3.94)inches, Shwegyin (3.54)inches, Thandwe (2.91)inches, Madauk (2.87)inches, Kamamaung (2.81)inches, Thaton (2.69)inches, Gwa and Belin (2.52)inches each, Kyaukpyu and Hpa-an (2.32)inches each and Kawkayeit (2.09)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th June, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan (East and South) State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah and Kayin States and widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6 - 8) feet in Deltaic and Rakhine Coasts and (4 - 6) feet in Gulf of Mottama and Mon - Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Mon States.
